What is a birthday website?
A birthday website is a small web page that belongs to one birthday. Instead of a card that arrives in the post or a text that gets buried, the birthday person gets a link. They open it on their phone and find a letter, a handful of photos, a song and a few things to play with. It stays at that link, so they can come back to it on the next birthday too.
What goes on your birthday web page
- A letter. Write the message you would say out loud. It opens from a sealed envelope with their name on it.
- Photos. Polaroid-style pictures that flip over, each with a line about the memory.
- A countdown. Set the date and the page counts down to the day, so you can send it early.
- A song. Pick a track from YouTube or Spotify that plays as they open it.
- Treats and games. Scratch-off foil with a promise underneath, a spinning wheel for ideas, a secret word and a quiz about you two.
- A voice message. Record a short hello so they hear you, not just read you.
How to make a birthday website in a few minutes
- Choose Birthday and type their name and yours.
- Pick a look. Each look is a photographed table with flowers, with day and night versions.
- Write your letter, add photos and choose a song.
- Preview it on the live phone view, then send the private link or print a QR code on a card.
Birthday website ideas for different people
For a partner: a letter about the year, photos from your favourite days and a dinner voucher under scratch-off foil. For a best friend: inside jokes, a quiz that only the two of you can pass and a playlist. For a parent: old photos next to new ones and a recording of you saying thank you. For someone far away: a countdown to the day and a voice note, so the birthday still feels close.
Private by design
Your birthday website is locked before it leaves your phone. The key lives only in the link you send, so only people with that link can open it.
