Not every bride wants a raunchy bachelorette. And at a bridal shower, mom, grandma and the future mother-in-law are all in the room. These games are fun, a little competitive, and safe for everyone.
Classics, done well
1. How Well Do You Know the Bride?
Write 15 questions about the bride (first concert, go-to coffee order, celebrity crush). The guest with the most right answers wins.
2. He Said, She Said
Ask the partner questions in advance ("Who said I love you first?"), then the bride guesses their answers. Wrong answers mean a sip of something.
3. Advice Cards
Everyone writes one piece of marriage advice on a card. The bride reads them aloud and guesses who wrote each one.
4. Toilet Paper Wedding Dress
Teams of three design a wedding dress out of toilet paper in ten minutes. The bride picks the winner.
A little more interactive
5. The Proposal Story Relay
The bride tells the proposal story, but stops every few sentences, and a guest has to guess what happened next.
6. Wedding Song Guess
Play the first five seconds of famous love songs. Fastest correct guess wins a point.
7. Bouquet Toss Trivia
Before the toss, everyone answers one question about the couple. Only correct answers get to compete for the bouquet.
The one people talk about afterwards
8. Secret Missions with a Hidden Crasher
Every guest gets three secret missions celebrating the bride: get her to tell the proposal story, collect marriage advice from three guests, organise a toast. But one or two guests are secretly "Wedding Crashers" quietly sabotaging the missions. After each round, the squad votes someone off the guest list.
It works because the missions make everyone mingle and talk about the bride, which is the point of the party. Bride Squad is a ready-made version played on phones, for 5–16 guests, and every mission is sweet rather than raunchy.
Gentle options
9. Wishes for the Couple
Guests write a wish for the couple's first year. Collect them into a keepsake the couple can reopen on their first anniversary.
10. Memory Lane Slideshow
Ask guests to send a photo with the bride before the party. Play them as a slideshow and let each guest tell the story behind theirs.
Tips
- Ask the bride first. Some love games, some would rather just eat cake.
- Mix loud and calm. One active game, then a quiet one.
- Keep prizes small and silly. A tiny trophy, a face mask, a bottle of bubbly.
Congratulations to the bride!
